Makin' Change e.p. now available Thu, Mar. 6 2008 For those of you who don't know (or forgot). I started performing in 1998 with the group, "East L.A. Sabor Factory". In 2003, the band changed its name and became "Inner City Soul". In 2004 we released a 4 song ep, titled "Makin Change". It's the only ICS release do this date! A limited number of copies have just been made available at two places. One place is www.cdbaby.com. You can order via the web and it will ship to you for free. This would be good for anyone not in Los Angeles. The only retail store to carry the cd is Amoeba Music in Hollywood (Sunset & Ivar). Neighborhood Fame Review Tue, Feb. 26 2008 In the opening track to his album, Neighborhood Fame, Ray Ricky Rivera says his music is for the working class, for the hustlers/for the gangsters and for the strugglers/this for the haters and the lovers, just because /when the beat drop, everybody turn it up, and that means Rivera is someone who wants to make a wide variety music for a wide range of listeners, whether it's a nice up-tempo dance track ready made for the clubs, something for a backyard party ("Still Livin'"), or something to listen to while consuming some liquid spirits ("Sunshine"). The guy definitely carries the trademarks of being a California rapper, where you have him talking about where he comes from and the people and community that made him who he is, but with the polish that perhaps comes from the shine of the Hollywood lights. In other words, it doesn't sound like a rough demo, the guy doesn't need a makeover for his rhymes and style of rhyming is ready to be taken to the masses. He creates songs with incredible hooks, and as a storyteller he is believable. I can see how the ladies will eat him up, while guys may be intimidated by how well Rivera does his thing, because he knows this is his thing. In a track like "Mami", where he tries to start up the engine Meters style, one can hear how he is on the fine line between someone who has the rawness of Soup or Slim Kid Tre but has the capabilities of being as accessible as will.i.am. Acknowledging his self-proclaimed Neighborhood Fame will have his home crowd reaching out to him, but they better hang on tight because it seems Rivera wants to be able to visit each and every neighborhood across the nation, for fine food, fine ladies, and the many other finer things in life. Amoeba Home Grown Artist!!! Thu, Sep. 20 2007 I've been selected by the Amoeba Music Store in Hollywood as their "Home Grown Artist" for the month of September. What does it mean? Well, Amoeba is an independent record store (one of the few left) and they really believe in helping independent artists get exposure. In order to be considered for this, an employee has to recommend an artist. I was recommended by a manger that heard my stuff online and saw that I was distributed in the store. They've placed two quarter page ad's promoting my album. One is in the LA Weekly and also in the College Campus Circle. They have also placed me on their website. You can download an mp3 of the single, Mi Sonido and you can also order the album via the web. They have also gave me positioning in the store...meaning, my album is being displayed for shoppers to easily see. A big big thank you to the Amoeba marketing staff. Every bit of support helps. Album release date Tue, Nov. 28 2006 Ray Ricky's Neighborhood Fame release date has been pushed back to early April 2007. Ray is currently mixing the final tracks for the album. The album's first single, "Mi Sonido" is set to hit the streets in January. The track will also be available for download through MySpace. Ray Ricky Rivera will be finishing up the year with a performance on December 1st at The Blue House Cafe in Whittier, California. Ray Ricky will kick off the new year with a mimi California tour in Februay, and a Southwest Tour in March.

Neighborhood Fame Thu, Oct. 12 2006 Ray Ricky is currently in production on his highly anticipated debut album, "Neighborhood Fame." The album is set to hit stores March 13,2007 and will be released by the East LA based indie label, Triumphant Records. Neighborhood Fame will feature 9 tracks produced by Ray Ricky himself, including 6 tracks with production work by producer/engineer John Avila (Oingo Boingo),up and coming producer/engineer Joaquin Pacheco, and the Urban Latin Hip Hop producer David Salas. Debut solo performance Tue, Sep. 26 2006 After having been touring and recording with a live band for the past 8 years, Ray Ricky Rivera hit the stage as a solo artist. In the summer of 2001, Ray co-wrote the album "Party At Louie's" with the group East L.A. Sabor Factory. Ray fronted the group for 5 steady years with relentless touring throughout the West and the South West of the United States. In 2004, Ray then co-wrote and co-produced the EP "Makin Change" with his band Inner City Soul. Both groups featured a full rhythm section and a full horn section. Ray Ricky who is also a multi-instrumentalist played congas, bongo, rhythm guitar, cornet, guiro and guira, many times with both bands On Saturday September 25th Ray made his debut with Dj Abomb manning the one's and two's. This marked the first time in his career that he took to the stage with just a microphone and a Dj. After having conquered many stages around the world with a full ensemble behind him, Ray has revamped his approach to moving audiences.
